Turn Off Sound Effects in the Games

When you find a word in the Word Search Player a sound plays to indicate that you have successfully found a word from the list. Other sounds play when you have completed the word search or crossword puzzle. These sounds can be turned off by checking this option.

All Users Use the Same Settings

When this option is checked all users on the computer will use the same Puzzle Repository.

Note: Windows can be configured to allow different users to log into a single computer. Some versions of Windows require a user to log in. Normally only one user is logged in at a time. One or more login names have access to the entire computer and are said to have administrative access rights. Other login names do not have administrative access rights. These login names have restrictions about what they can change on the computer.

To use this option you need to have Read, Write, Create and Modify access rights to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Insight Software Solutions\Puzzle Player section of the registry. If you do not have access rights to this area of the registry then this option will be disabled. The administrator would need to grant these access rights to users on Windows NT, 2000 or XP machines.

Normally you do not have to worry about this for Windows 95, 98 or ME since by default all users have administrative access rights. You will need to consider this issue if you are using Windows NT, 2000 or XP and have more than one login name.

Puzzle Repository

You can select the location where the java based puzzles are located on your computer. The default path is in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Insight Software\Puzzle Player. Or you can browse to another location to store the puzzles.

Java Path

This is the location where the Java Run Time Environment is located on your computer. The program should automatically locate the folder where the Java Run Time Environment is stored on your computer and the path information will be saved.

Note: The Puzzle Player requires that you have the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your computer. If necessary, you can download it from http:www.puzzleconnection.com/puzzleplayer/jre.htm. Select the download link for JRE for Windows.
